Out of all of the fun activities that I enjoyed in La Fortuna, jumping from the El Salto rope swing was definitely one of the best.

Spending my afternoons chilling at El Salto was a highlight of my trip, and as a free activity, it gave my travel budget a break in expensive La Fortuna.

Montezuma waterfalls were definitely one of the trickier nature spots to reach on my Costa Rica trip.. However, the reward was worth it..

Swimming in such a secluded spot, while listening to howler monkeys high above me was a highlight of my time in Montezuma!

One of my favourite moments in Costa Rica was sitting by the Pacific Ocean with an ice cold beer watching the sun set.

Tamarindo is the perfect spot to do so, as a result of the long sandy beaches, and abundance of bars and restaurants, which all battle for tourist’s spending money.

Here are the best bars in Tamarindo which made my time in the Pacific town fun and unique.

Hearing Pedro’s stories on the Tamarindo estuary tour were fun.. He has been a tour guide in the town’s mangroves for over thirty years.

He promised us a howler monkey and a crocodile, and he delivered!

At the edge of Tamarindo lies a beautiful estuary, home to some awesome wildlife, natural mangroves, and a tale or two from the locals.

As I wandered through the Costa Rican rainforest, I waited for the heavy downpour. But it never came.

Maybe the rainy season isn’t the worst time to visit Costa Rica afterall!

With such an abundance of picture-perfect settings, how do you fill up your travel itinerary to include Costa Rica’s most Instagrammable places?

That is where I come into it!

Following my adventure around Costa Rica, I have picked my 9 favourite spots which are aesthetically pleasing, and good for the soul, both of which combined to give me a taste of that Pura Vida lifestyle.

As we walked down the steep stairs I couldn’t help but think of the climb which faced us on our way back up..

However, then it appeared high up above the rainforest.

La Fortuna waterfall is definitely worth the entrance fee!

The abundance of beautiful waterfalls is just one aspect of the world-renowned nature which covers Costa Rica, and La Fortuna is definitely one of the best waterfalls, but it comes at a cost.

Walking down the street in San Jose was revealing quirky surprises around every corner…

Statues, graffiti art, and beautiful architecture.

However, I definitely sensed more of a gritty underbelly.

The city is full of character so one day in San Jose will definitely keep you entertained.
